Hi reader

Welcome to our final - and fairly brief - round-up of web fest news for 2017. It's pretty much an opportunity to say a great big THANK YOU! (again) to everyone who was a part of #NZWF17,and to celebrate continuing successes for some of those participants - and others.

If you weren't trawling Facebook on Sunday morning (NZ time) you might have missed the results of pretty much the last web fest event of the year, the International Online Web Fest awards.

Congrats to #NZWF17 selections Amy Street, Le Myriapode and Other People's Children (below) on their wins, and a round applause for fellow finalists Ana, Or So the Story Goes and Shakespeare Republic.

Closer to home, congrats also to the winners at the NZ TV Awards. The Best Web Series gong went to Loading Docs (which was where Amy Street started its journey back in 2015). Millen Baird & John Argall took the Best Script: Comedy award for Darryl: an Outward Bound Story.

Darryl will be back next year in Darryl: A Coast to Coast Story, supported in the latest funding round at NZ On Air. Also supported were drama webseries At My Most Beautiful and interactive drama Alibi, from David de Lautour (Westside's Ted West). Alibi will play out across TVNZ On Demand, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram.

So that's (a bit of) what's coming next year. Right here right now is a good time to relax with a good web series and we seem to be swimming in them at the moment, so here are FOUR new releases from NZ creators we'd like to point your eyeballs at:
