The third edition of the NZ Web Fest, #NZWF17, will run 18 – 19 November in Auckland, presenting screenings of award-winning local and international web series and vlogs; a conference day featuring creators, movers and shakers in the digital domains; and an awards ceremony.
We’re looking for volunteers to fill a number of roles, both between now and November to ensure we can deliver a great event again, and in November to ensure that we do deliver that great event.
If you’re willing and able, we’re looking for …
People who can spare a minimum of two hours a week (more is fine if you’re keen) for the next few months on straightforward admin tasks like processing festival submissions, helping to organise materials for our selectors and judges, etc. Easy peasy if you’ve got access to a computer (not your phone), internet and a spreadsheet programme like Microsoft Excel or Open Office Calc.
We’re also after somebody who’ll oversee our social media outreach.
In September and October, we’d love to get some help from people with design skills (web and print) as we put our programme together, marketing skills as our tickets go on sale, and also a couple of people with video editing skills to put together our screening programmes and awards packages.
We welcome interest from anywhere in NZ for the above roles, as they can all be performed remotely. These are volunteer roles, so there’s no payment but we’re happy to cover agreed expenses. You will be credited in the event programme, and here on the website.

In November, we’ll be looking for volunteers to assist with the smooth running of the event on the weekend of 18 – 19 November. You could be doing registration, running screenings, hosting, troubleshooting, hospitality, or looking after our presenters and guests. Once our programme is confirmed, we’ll try to ensure you’re able to see some of the conference or screening sessions.
