From tennis champions to dance craze inventors, the anthology series Scratched: Aotearoa’s Lost Sporting Legends celebrates New Zealand sporting heroes who never got their due – but deserve to have their names in lights.

In 1957 Ruia Morrison from Rotorua became the first New Zealand woman and first Māori to compete at Wimbledon, advancing to the quarter finals. But while the international tennis world celebrates one of our greatest achievers, Morrison remains largely unknown at home in New Zealand.
