Welcome to our February newsletter.

We've good news to share but first we'll shamelessly plug the fact that we're now accepting entries for our 2017 edition via FilmFreeway. The earlybird deadline is 31 March, so don't leave it too much longer to submit and save yourself a few bucks.

As noted previously, the NZ Web Fest is part of the Web Series World Cup this year. Since we opened submissions on 1 February we've already received web series from ten different countries on four continents, so we're looking forward to going global for our third edition.

Down at the end of the newsletter, you can find upcoming submission deadlines for other WSWC festivals.

The 2017 Web Series World Cup kicks off in Buenos Aires next month. Congratulations to official selections the two NZ web series in the mix - the third season of 2015 WSWC winner High Road, and Amy Street.

Congrats also to Tom Sainsbury and Kermath's The Video Store, the sole NZ web series named in the line-up for this year's LA Web Fest. The line-up also includes 11 Australian titles.
#NZWF16 winner Fasitua Amosa (Outstanding Vlogger) has his acting hat back on and is currently shooting for Dorthe Scheffmann's feature film Vermilion in a cast including #NZWF16 judge Jennifer Ward-Lealand.

The NZ Web Fest has partnered with Stareable to help promote the festival and NZ web shows to an international audience. #NZWF16 Best Web Series winner AFK is now on Stareable. The show joins Aroha Bridge, #NZWF16 finalist Pot Luck and two series from #NZWF16 winners The Candle Wasters.
