Pitch 2020

#NZWF20 Pitch Competition

As part of our efforts to create opportunities and rewards for creators of web series, we’re thrilled to announce our very first Pitch competition. We would have loved to be able to do this live, but we’ve decided it’s more important to do it than to do it live and in-person.

So, if you’ve got an idea or have started work on a series, this could be an opportunity for you to get it in front of some people who are always looking for content.

Assuming you’re as excited about doing this as we are, here’s what you need to know…

– It’ll be online.
– Selected projects will have 2 minutes to pitch.
– You’ll get feedback.
– You may win a cash prize.

We hope to select around 12 projects.

We offer separate prizes for NZ and International pitches, so you can enter from wherever you are.
Entry is FREE, here: https://bit.ly/2ER1Rpj
The submission deadline is now extended to 11:59PM, 28 October.
If you’re not in NZ, check the deadline in your timezone here: bit.ly/2S8juUI

If selected, you must present your pitch at the session at 2:00PM, Saturday 14 November (NZ). Check out the session time in your timezone: bit.ly/36bMAe1

The winners will be announced at the #NZWF20 Awards Ceremony on the evening of Saturday 14 November.

Did we say there are cash prizes? There are!

Read the stuff below, and if you’ve got any questions, please contact [email protected]

Pitch Rules
Your pitch must be a maximum of 2 minutes, including any teaser/trailer material.

You may pre-record your pitch (including any video material) if you wish. However, we want it as close as possible to a live presentation, so your recorded pitch must:
– run 2 minutes or less,
– be one file (including any teaser/trailer),
– be a single take (except for any video teaser/trailer), and
– not contain any effects, post additions or captions, except as part of teaser/trailer

Whether you pitch live or recorded, you must attend the session on Saturday 14 November. No show, no pitch.

Project Rules
Your project may be at any stage from idea to post, but must not have been released, via a festival or on any public platform.

Your project must:
– be a series project, not a standalone special, film or telefeature.
– be video, (vodcast ideas are OK, but not podcasts).
– be intended for online distribution, not for broadcast TV.
– be a new project, not a subsequent season of material already released.

Must not have been sold or licensed to a platform within NZ.

All genres are accepted – factual, fictional, live action, animation.

Submission Rules
Submissions are via our submission platform only: https://nzwf20-pitch.lilregie.com

Selected pitch projects will be notified before 1 November.
